What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body. It retains water and is one of the substances that help keep the skin hydrated.
When injected into the skin, it plumps and lifts wrinkles from beneath the skin.
In addition to lifting wrinkles, it can be used to create a rounded, feminine forehead or increase the height of the nose.

Choosing hyaluronic acid fillers
Our clinic offers a range of hyaluronic acid fillers and recommends different products for different treatment areas.
We assess the firmness and softness of the skin at areas such as the eyes, nasolabial folds and chin before treatment.
We also offer eyelid hyaluronic acid injections (orbital and deep-set eye fillers) treatments. If you are concerned about volume around the upper eyelids or eye sockets, please discuss this during your consultation.

Dissolving agents when needed
If you would like to reduce volume or adjust asymmetry or unevenness after hyaluronic acid injections, we may use the enzyme hyaluronidase to make adjustments.
Hyaluronic acid products differ in concentration and cross-linking structure, so the same amount of dissolving agent may not dissolve every filler in the same way. We assess the product, area, amount injected and time since injection to adjust the required area.
Our clinic offers three options for dissolving hyaluronic acid: hyaluronidase, Hylax and HYLENEX. All are enzyme preparations that break down hyaluronic acid, but their origins and formulations differ.
hyaluronidase
This injection uses the enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid. It is used to reduce the volume of injected filler or adjust its shape and unevenness. The required amount depends on the filler and injected volume, so one treatment may not dissolve all of it.
Dissolving only: 1.0cc ¥5,500 (tax included) With another doctor-performed treatment on the same day: 1.0cc ¥3,300 (tax included)Hylax
A liquid hyaluronidase product manufactured by BMI Korea. Unlike products supplied as powder for reconstitution, it is formulated as a liquid. It shares the basic function of breaking down hyaluronic acid, but enzyme amounts and formulations differ. The amount used is determined after assessing the area to be dissolved and the injected filler.
1.0cc ¥11,000 (tax included)HYLENEX recombinant
A liquid formulation of human hyaluronidase (rHuPH20) produced using recombinant technology. It is approved as a medicine in the United States and contains 150 USP units of hyaluronidase per 1mL. Its manufacturing origin differs from animal-derived hyaluronidase. Literature suggests a potentially lower likelihood of immune reactions, but the possibility of an allergic reaction is not eliminated.
1.0cc ¥11,000 (tax included)Dissolving hyaluronic acid depends not only on the agent, but also on which filler is being adjusted, where it was injected and how much adjustment is needed. Different fillers are known to respond differently to hyaluronidase. We review your injection history and current condition before explaining the product and amount to use. Where appropriate, adjustments may be made in stages rather than dissolving everything at once.
* Hyaluronidase products may cause redness, swelling, pain or itching at the injection site, and rarely allergic reactions.
* Use to dissolve hyaluronic acid filler may differ from a product’s approved indication. The product to be used will be explained at your consultation.
For patients requesting dissolving treatment only
If you reserve a hyaluronic acid injection appointment and request only filler dissolving, an express surcharge of +¥33,000 (tax included) applies.
Please do not book a hyaluronic acid injection appointment if you only wish to have hyaluronic acid filler dissolved.

eyelid hyaluronic acid injections (orbital and deep-set eye fillers)
We also offer treatments known as eyelid, orbital and deep-set eye hyaluronic acid injections.
This treatment adjusts the shape by injecting hyaluronic acid while assessing volume around the upper eyelids and eye sockets. Our suggested product for these areas is Allergan Juvéderm VISTA Volbella XC.
* The doctor determines the required injection volume and actual product after assessing the eyelids, the surrounding eye area and your desired result.
